How can you help?
We are looking for any performers who are willing to donate their time to our event. Fire breathers, fire spinners, flow artists, contortionists, strong man, dancing bear, fortune teller, tarot card reader, belly dancer, etc. We are also looking for bands anything from steampunk to bluegrass, rockabilly to country. Sorry we love clowns, but have opted to not include any in our program. Mimes are welcome.
Our tentative schedule for the night looks like this:
- 7pm VIP with band - 40 minutes.
- 7:40pm the kick- off of circus performers each performing for 3-5 minutes each
- 8pm General Admission allowed to enter. At that point the performers will then rotate out in 30 minute segments (possibly 1-2 at a time around the venue).
- 8-9 rotation of performers (15 - 30 minute sets)
- 9-9:30 band plays set
- 9-10:15 rotation of performers (15 - 30 minute sets)
- 10:15-10:30 announce raffle winners
- 10:30-10:50 finale of performers (5-7 minutes each)
What's the plan?
The date is Saturday October 21. Location is Flat Shoals Farm, Flat Shoals and Ormewood Avenue.
$50.00. Package includes three drinks, beer, wine, or cocktail, and unlimited food. Entry at 8 p.m. Music, Vintage Circus Performance, and more.
$100. Package includes unlimited drinks, VIP reception, exclusive music entertainment, VIP Vintage Circus Performance, and more.
The goal is for 200-250 attendees and to raise $25,000 total in sponsorship and ticket sales.

What is Neighbor in Need?
Neighbor in Need East Atlanta, which is a 501(c)(3) under the East Atlanta Community Association (EACA) umbrella. Our mission is to provide emergency home repairs for low income seniors in East Atlanta. We do about 50 projects annually with total average spend of $25,000 per. Since our inception in 2010, Neighbor in Need has completed over 140 projects spending over $135,000.
Burgess-Peterson Academy is delighted to host the 6th Annual EAV Runfest on Saturday, March 28, 2020. For 2020, it will be the same format as previous events, with a 5K first, fun run for kids and parents of all ages, and finishing up with a spectator-friendly, two-lap 1 mile race right through the village. You are invited to attend EACA’s November meeting on Tuesday, November 12 at 7pm. During the meeting attendees will have a Q&A with East Atlanta's Atlanta School Board Representative Michelle D. Olympiadis, hear updates about the Lyndale Drive Annexation, discuss proposed changes to street parking near BPA, learn more about GDOT pedestrian count on Moreland Avenue, and learn more about East Atlanta Santa Fest and EACA Potluck and Elections.
Join EACA and SAND on Saturday, November 16th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. at the intersection of Moreland Ave SE and Ormewood Ave SE for the GDOT pedestrian count Have your Moreland Ave Passport stamped for prizes and discounts at area businesses! This count will determine whether we have sufficient pedestrian traffic for GDOT to install a crosswalk with a traffic signal on Moreland Avenue, somewhere between Pendleton and Ormewood.
While your ghouls and goblins are enjoying EAV-O-Ween this year bring them by the Neighbor In Need Photobooth from 6pm-8pm to get that perfect memory of the day. For a suggested donation of $10, professional photographer Dani Weiss, of Dani Weiss Photography will get a great shot, do a little editing to really make it pop, and have it available on her site for download. All proceeds got to Neighbor in Need to help keep elderly neighbors in EAV in their homes by doing emergency home repairs they simply can’t afford. The photo booth is supported by Marc Takacs of In Atlanta Realtors .
EAV Runfest is looking for community volunteers to join it’s 2020 planning committee and will host a planning meeting on Wednesday November 6. It's time for the Friends of East Atlanta Library’s Annual Community Party and Annual Meeting! This adults only event is open to the public and complimentary. A brief members meeting will be followed by light refreshments, live bluegrass music and a wine tasting & cheese pairing.
You are invited to attend EACA’s October meeting on Tuesday, October 8 at 7pm. During the meeting attendees can hear updates from EACA committees, hear about the latest development projects, details on neighborhood events, and members will vote on land use, zoning, and alcohol license applications.
Dogtoberfest, a family-friednly festival will return to East Atlanta Village on October 20. Free for people and $5 per dog. Costume-contest entry is an additional $5 (entry form here.) Celebrity judges include dog trainer and TV star, Victoria Stillwell. All proceeds will benefit The W-Underdogs.
Renovations are underway at the East Atlanta Library, but Tai Chi will continue to be offered at the Kirkwood Library. Please join us each Thursday through October 31st from 5-6pm.
Thanks for coming out to this year’s East Atlanta Strut, folks! If you loved the Strut, now's your chance to make it even better. We'll start planning next year's festival with a debrief meeting two weeks from today. We already know we need a person or group to run the kids area, someone to specialize in finding corporate sponsors, someone to join the volunteer recruiting team and someone to join the hospitality team. Join EACA Parks and Greenspace Committee on Saturday, October 5, as we continue our partnership with Trees Atlanta's 2019 Greenspace Guardians to rescue Brownwood Park's forest form the grip of non-native invasive weeds and restore native shrubs and wildflowers.

Keep your Independence Day celebration close to home. The East Atlanta Strut is bringing a professional fireworks show to the village on the Fourth of July at 9:30 p.m. There will be a viewing area set up on Glenwood Avenue in front of Holy Taco, 1314 Glenwood.
Mayhem on Milton Place has a new date - Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 2 pm to 8 pm! Come meet your neighbors, bring some food for the potluck, and enjoy the unique culture of East Atlanta.
NPU-W unanimously passed two resolutions concerning the proposal to exchange about 50 acres of Entrenchment Creek Greenspace for privately owned, partially cleared land. These resolutions outline the community's concerns and contain links to the deeds and documents cited. EACA members are encouraged to make their opinions about this proposal known to our DeKalb County Commissioners.
EACA's Land Use and Zoning Committee is hosting an information session about the Bouldercrest Triangle historic small business district - current status and proposed zoning changes. Please RSVP.

East Atlanta Security Patrol (EASP) is increasing patrols in East Atlanta for the summer months and would like to extend a special offer to new members. Join before May 24 and your membership will begin in time for extra patrols during the Memorial Day holiday. That’s over 1 month of free membership! EASP employs off-duty Zone Six police officers to perform additional patrols within the East Atlanta community. All patrol officers are armed, in uniform, with full arrest powers.
