Come join the Bicycle Fun Ride sponsored by the Southeast Atlanta Bicycle Users Group from the East Atlanta Village through Ormewood Park, Grant Park, to Turner Stadium and Back. Riders should meet in the parking lot of Bank of America at 2 PM, Sat, Feb 22. Helmets required.

Trees Atlanta Day
Last month approximately 60 trees were planted in East Atlanta. Thanks to all the East Atlanta residents who came out and braved the cold weather to help beautify our neighborhood (30 degrees). Look for the trees at Mrs. Winners, Krystals (these are really small,) Wendy's, McDonalds, the library, post office, the big and tall shop, Sun Trust bank, across from the Flat Iron, Branan Towers, and all the way down Moreland to Ormewood, then 4 more on Ormewood! These will have an amazing impact on our community in a few years.

MARTA Task Force on I-20 Corridor
The feasibility study of the I-20 Corridor is complete. MARTA will move ahead with a planning process to determine a transit solution for the I-20 East Corridor which could include heavy rail, light rail, bus-trollies, or buses. Over the next few months, the task force will be determining which actual routes and type of transit will be recommended. It is critical that we stay involved to make sure we have service to East Atlanta without disrupting the community fabric. The next community meeting is March 5, 6:30 PM at the East Lake YMCA across from Publix in East Lake.

Dirty Dozen in East Atlanta
We are starting to compile a list of properties that may have zoning/code or other violations in East Atlanta. Dennis Madsen, our zoning chair, will be taking the lead for this. If you cannot make Tuesday's meeting, please e-mail him at dmadsen@mindspring.com with the address of the property so that he can assess any potential violations. Digital pictures would also help.
